📍 Library Location System

Choose how your library organises and locates physical books. This affects how location codes appear on QR labels, spine labels, and circulation reports. You can change this later, but existing location codes will need to be reassigned.

🔢

Dewey Decimal System

Books ordered by subject number (e.g. A 823.914 ROW). Standard system used in most school and public libraries. Best for secondary schools and libraries with trained staff.

🎨

Genre System (Genrefication)

Books grouped by genre section (e.g. FANTASY ROW). Like a bookstore — students can browse independently. Best for primary schools and student-led libraries.

⏸️

Use Existing References

Keep the reference numbers imported from your CSV file (e.g. existing Dewey numbers your library already uses). LibraryAid will display these as-is on labels and book detail pages without any changes.

📊 Barcode Settings

Configure how barcodes work for checkout and check-in.

Reading Age Prefixes

Optionally add a prefix letter before the Dewey number to indicate reading age band (e.g. A 823.914 ROW). Add, remove or rename prefixes to suit your school.

Letter Label Age From Age To

Genre System

Choose which genre sections your library uses. Students will see these sections when browsing.

Enter your own genre section names. Books will be assigned to these sections.

☁️ Your Data is Always Safe

Unlike desktop library systems, all your LibraryAid data is automatically saved to the cloud in real time — every scan, checkout, and catalogue entry. Nothing is stored locally on your computer.

A computer crash, a school IT update, or switching to a new device won't affect your library data at all. No exports or backups needed.
