Our Story

LibraryAid was born in a primary school library. As a teacher, I watched students walk past hundreds of brilliant books because nobody had the time to match the right book to the right child. Accelerated Reader was too expensive and too rigid. Nothing else came close to solving the real problem — so I built it myself.

What started as a tool for my own classroom has grown into a complete school library management system: AI-powered book recommendations, VIPERS comprehension tracking, adaptive reading assessment, gamified rewards, and professional-grade cataloguing — everything a primary school needs, in one platform, at a fraction of the cost of existing solutions. Built by a teacher who understood the problem from the inside.

📊 Dynamic Reading Assessment

Adaptive reading level assessments combined with ongoing VIPERS comprehension quiz performance to create a continuously updated reading profile for every student. Teachers can blend LibraryAid's assessment data with their own GL or PIRA results — giving full control over how book recommendations are matched to each child's ability.

🎮 AI Reading Comprehension + Bookworm Runner

Every book now has an AI-generated VIPERS comprehension quiz. Students answer questions to earn game time in Bookworm Runner — a Mario-style platform game with slopes, book pile obstacles, canyon jumps and spring pads. Correct answers restore hearts and earn genre points for the worm accessory shop.

AI-powered collection development for school librarians. Analyses your library against 1,300+ award-winning and curated books from Carnegie, Waterstones, BooksForTopics Teachers' Favourites, UKLA and more. Genre gap analysis with realistic targets scaled to library size. One-click AI analysis checks what you already own and recommends specific books to buy — tailored to your school context.

Complete Library Management System

Professional-grade library cataloguing with QR code + barcode scanning, checkout/checkin system, automated overdue alerts, comprehensive reporting, and three organization systems (Dewey Decimal, Genre-based, or existing references). Includes label printing, bulk CSV operations, and student borrowing portals.

How LibraryAid Works

LibraryAid integrates seamlessly with your existing school library system, enhancing rather than replacing your current infrastructure. Here's how the process works:

  1. Library Cataloging: Schools can easily upload their existing library catalog or create a new one from scratch. Our system automatically categorizes books by genre, reading level, themes, and more.
  2. Student Profiles & Reading Assessment: Teachers create student profiles with interests and learning goals. LibraryAid's adaptive Reading Level Check establishes a baseline reading age, which is then continuously refined by VIPERS comprehension quiz performance — creating a live, accurate picture of each student's reading ability. Teachers can also enter their own GL or PIRA results at any time.
  3. AI-Powered Recommendations: Our recommendation engine analyzes the library catalog and student profiles to suggest books that match each student's reading level, interests, and learning objectives.
  4. Engagement and Gamification: Students earn points and rewards for completing books, participating in challenges, and achieving reading goals, motivating them to read more.
  5. Progress Tracking: Teachers and parents can monitor reading progress, comprehension, and skill development over time, allowing for targeted interventions and support.
